University protests at top party school award
The University of Wisconsin at Madison is unhappy, but it's students aren't. It's just been named Top Party School 2005, the award that - according to the Guardian - nobody wants.Its chancellor dismissed the poll of students as "junk science". No parties to celebrate, then.

Man steals plane while drunk
Newsday reports on the case of 20-year-old Philippe Patricio, who is accused of stealing a four-seat Cessna plane and taking two friends on a middle-of-the-night joyride.He'd had seven hours of student flight time, was twice over the limit and "a significant number of beer cans" fell out of the cockpit doors when they were opened.
The plane landed successfully at Westchester County Airport, which was closed at the time.

Students show up drunk to 'sober' cruise
A high school graduation cruise - advertised as being strictly "sober", and with chaperones carrying out multiple checks for licquor - never left dock because some of the students were drunk, the Vallejo Times-Herald reports in California.Some creative teenagers passed around a water bottle full of vodka.
Kristi Lash, head of the Sober Grad Nite committee, said, "I'm heartbroken these children would (drink), knowing that it's a safe-and-sober grad night and sober is the key."
