Election day is here

Britain goes to the polls today after an election campaign which has been underway since January.

It's time...

Polling stations up and down the country will be open for a mammoth 15 hours between 7am and 10pm. As far as postal votes go, it's too late to post them but those who haven't can hand them in to the local council or at a polling station up until the end of voting.

The first results are expected at around 23.30 tonight.
