Jack Daniel's and the BBQ
Our short-lived barbecue season deserves to be enjoyed to the fullest. Every day you get to cook in the great outdoors - your back garden - should be treasured. Instead of just squirting on the ketchup or spreading the mayo, let Jack Daniels bring a saucy sizzle to your barbecue.

In Lynchburg, Tennessee, Jack Daniels used to have lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's boarding house. Today, Miss Mary's has developed many recipes and sauces in memory of the legendary JD.
Here are some of Miss Mary's Jack Daniels-spiked sauces.
Jack Daniel's Stillhouse Barbecue Sauce
240ml ketchup
240ml cider vinegar
230g brown sugar
110g finely chopped onions
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Tabasco pepper sauce, or to taste
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer about 30 mins, or until slightly thickened. Slather this sauce on during the last five minutes of cooking - just long enough for the sugar to caramelise and brown.
Lynchburg Peppery Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce

230g crumbled blue cheese of choice
quarter teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
1 tablespoon Tabasco pepper sauce, or to taste
Combine all ingredients in medium bowl. Blend well. Refrigerate. This is great for summer barbecue salads or tortilla chips.
