Kat Fletcher
Kat Fletcher is the 50th President of the National Union of Students, and only the sixth woman to fill the post. She was the Campaign for Free Education candidate, elected at NUS National Conference in 2004 and re-elected in 2005.
Her first victory was a close one, having beaten her nearest rival - the Labour Students candidate Rami Okasha - by just two votes, but her re-election was by a much greater margin of 433 votes, giving her a clear mandate to continue in the job.
She graduated in 2004 with a degree in Social Policy after taking two years out to serve as the NUS Women's Officer, making her the first President to have come to office on the back of filling one of the liberation officer posts.
