Bill Rammell

Last update: 19 May 2005 15:11

Bill Rammell can claim some degree of fame, having been the last MP to be returned in the 2005 election. He has served as the Member for Harlow since Labour's landslide victory in 1997.

He studied for a French degree at University College, Cardiff, before being elected President of the Students' Union. He later took up a role as one of the NUS's regional officers, but this did not prevent him from voting for the introduction of top up fees, as the NUS was only too happy to remind us.

Prior to taking on the universities brief after Labour's third term election victory, he held the post of Junior Minister at the Foreign Office.
