No to the Rose Hill mobile phone mast

No to the phone mastAs you know may know, I'm a massive fan of technology.

What I am not a fan of, however, are things like mobile phone masts being put up on one of the green areas in a very residential area - particularly when the full health implications of mobile masts are not known. Rose Hill (where we live) is quite a deprived part of Oxford - but is certainly "up and coming" in terms of community relations and the desire to improve the area from within.

So, with that in mind, I've just come back from the protest picnic against plans to erect a mast on the green in Rose Hill - local residents have been collecting petitions, writing letters, getting in the papers and making a big noise about the issue - Antonia's been out every night getting signatures and delivering leaflets and we've just had a great afternoon meeting our new neighbours and getting in thick of things! And, hopefully, being part of a local voice that the council listens to...

For more information on the proposals, check out the Rose Hill Echo.
